I am in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon. I have been in Vietnam for more than a week now, having traveled southwards from the Chinese border.
I am a stranger writing to you because I am currently visiting Sao Paulo, I am a practicing Buddhist, and I have been hoping to visit a temple while I'm here. How did you get to stay in the temple here?
I also see that you are currently in Vietnam. What are you going to do there? I mainly practice in the Vietnamese tradition -- my dharma name is Van Hanh -- and I plan to travel to Vietnam (and hopefully to Taiwan) in 2010-2011, perhaps to live and practice in a temple.
I have a friend who is a monk in a temple in Dalat. I have another friend who is a monk in Saigon. Will you visit temples in either of these two places?
I would love to hear from you if you want to write. By the way, your photos of the monastics in Sao Paulo are lovely.
I have a blog or you can send me an email, if you have the time or the desire. I am Wendy. I am a writer and a professor (but not for long).
